Floyd Mayweather vs. Canelo Alvarez set for Sept. 14

The undisputed match is on! Brace yourselves fight fans for the highly and eagerly anticipated rumble between pound for pound welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and unbeaten Mexican superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez at the MGM Grand Garden.
This morning, the undefeated Floyd Mayweather announced via his Twitter account that he will fight Canelo Alvarez on September 14 (September 15 in Manila).
According to Dan Rafael of ESPN, the fight is set for a catchweight at 152 pound weight limit for both fighters. Both WBC and WBA junior middleweight titles will be up for grabs when the two collide at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas.
The 36-year-old Mayweather is unbeatable in 44 fights, the last is a unanimous 12-round decision against Robert Guerrero on May 4 at the MGM Grand succesfully dending his WBC welterweight title.
Alvarez (42-0-1) unified the WBA and WBA super welterweight titles on April 20 winning the unanimous victory over Austin Trout in San Antonio, TX.
Undoubtedly, Mayweather and Alvarez’s clash will be an epic one.
