Why San Antonio will win: Experience could be the difference. The Spurs are the defending Western Conference champions and have a roster as playoff-tested as any aside from the Heat and perhaps the Nets. Parker and Duncan know exactly when to step on the gas, whereas Lillard has a penchant for clutch moments but sometimes can shoot his team out of games. The Spurs also play much, much better defense than the Blazers or the Rockets and could clamp down on that end.

Why Portland will win: Does any team have a better pick-and-roll duo than Lillard and Aldridge? Those two were outstanding in the first round and present matchup nightmares for any opponent. The Blazers played as well as any team in the first round other than the Heat, and they appear to have overcome any issues that came from late in the season.

Did you know? Duncan averages fewer points per game (18.4) against the Blazers than any other Western Conference team for his career. Only the Washington Wizards (16.7) and Charlotte Bobcats (16.9) have contained the 17-season veteran better.

Prediction: Spurs in 6.
